Reports To : Solid reporting to Vice President & General Manager, South KoreaMatrix reporting to Vice President, APAC & Emerging Markets Information TechnologyThe Director, Information Technology, manages the information systems delivery for South Korea.

The incumbent is a trusted advisor and business partner to the relevant stakeholders within country and is accountable to partner with business stakeholders & senior leadership.

This role focuses on developing optimal strategic and operational excellence capabilities (organization, process, and tools / systems) to support and grow the business, and is accountable for providing IT process, application, and project management leadership for new and existing technology solutions.

The Director will work closely with the global / regional IT teams for shared services (Infrastructure, Shared Apps, eBusiness, etc.

within each business group / division to ensure overall IT delivery for ongoing support, enhancements, new releases and new applications.

The Director will provide leadership and work direction to both internal and external IT resources and will directly manage an organization of IT business partners.

  • Responsibilities : Business Partnership & Relationship Management (65%)Partner with IT and business leaders in the development of short and long range business technology strategies for the countryProvide leadership for planning, development, delivery and coordination of information services and initiatives ensuring they are aligned to the business' strategic imperativesProvide leadership to ensure the business requirements are understood and priorities are aligned and delivered be the voice of the country to the regional / global IT teamDevelop and leverage a deep understanding of the company’s business requirements and be the bridge between business needs and IT technical roadmapsBudgeting, development, integration and delivery of complex information systems projects and enhancements through all phases of the project life cycleProvide status reporting to IT and country leadership;
  • escalate and manage risks at the appropriate levels within IT and the businessCollaborate effectively with IT colleagues to ensure prioritized business objectives are metObjectively analyze strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats of current and planned people and organizational capabilities and determine appropriate solutionsAdapt to change and determine creative, cost effective solutions for business challengesLead the implementation of company approved enterprise systems, application software, installation of network hardware and software and database managementPeople Development (25%)Actively evaluate and develop people and organizational capabilities in order to set and execute a human resource strategy which accelerates business growth and drives valueMentor and educate within and across the team to ensure a stronger overall IT organizationManage the plans and activities of a team of managers, employees, and external contractors in order to achieve stated objectivesEnsure resources are assigned in a manner aligned with business priorities and personnel development goalsFinancial (10%)Manage to an annual operating budgetForecast and plan for future financial needs for existing application management and projectsComply with the company’s financial & procurement policies and procedures (including budgeting process, forecast cycles, RFP processes, contracting / PO processes)Collaborate within IT to ensure adequate flow of project information, resourcing and budgetingCompare, contrast and benchmark services or costs against othersRequirements : Bachelor’s degree in information technology or equivalentBroad operational IT experience in a large company environmentIdeally 12+ years of direct experience in IT with + 5 years leadership experience within a large, multinational matrixed organizationStrong background in ERP solutions (e.

    g. SAP, E1 or JD Edwards) preferredStrong understanding of the IT strategy and how it relates to business objectivesStrong project management skills and understanding of project management lifecycleAbility to work in a highly matrixed environmentStrong written and verbal communication skills in both Korean and English
