Magazine. Barbaricum seeks a Strategic Theater Planner / Analyst to provide support to a fast-paced and dynamic program supporting the U.

S. military 4 star-led, joint command United States Forces Korea (USFK) in South Korea. This individual will leverage military experience within planning, operations or intelligence domains to help the Command identify key strategy challenges, key planning assumptions and available resources.

This team includes strategic communications planners and analysts, as well as behavioral research and web development functions.


  • Develop intermediate and long-term objectives, focus areas that support end states
  • Assess performance against intermediate and long-term objectives
  • Create security assessments of partner countries
  • Establish clearly defined roles for participating countries
  • Develop concepts and plans for theater campaigns, define engagement concepts
  • Manage regional coordination
  • Shape, brief, and submit information and recommendations to senior-level decision-makers
  • Qualifications

  • Active DoD Secret Clearance required
  • Bachelor's degree with a minimum of four years of related work experience, preferably within East Asia and relevant area of study
  • In-depth experience supporting international relations and agreements, promoting regional geopolitical objectives, or similar military or diplomatic efforts
  • Military experience required, preferably within an Army strategy, planning, operations, or intelligence role
  • Strong research skills, particularly those applied in a work setting (i.e. not only university coursework)
  • Ability to proactively develop, synthesize, and articulate effective and actionable policy recommendations
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced setting, defining, and meeting deadlines
  • Ability to synthesize information from various sources
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a professional team
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and professional demeanor
  • Proven experience using Microsoft Office applications such as Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook
