Raytheon is seeking a Field Engineer to join our team on the APX-119 Field Upgrade program. This upgrade provides the US Department of Defense with state of the art Identification of Friend or Foe (IFF) capability and meet a Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) mandate.
This field engineer candidate will perform entry-level roles upgrading the APX-119 Radar Transponder. The candidate may also be asked to conduct site surveys as needed.
Position Responsibilities :
Setup of standard and specialized test equipment and unit under test reconfiguration to support integration and qualification activities.
Work from approved procedures, schematics, and drawings as well as oral and written instructions
Fault isolate problems between the test environment and the units under test. Identify and resolve issues as necessary
Interpret test data (plots, graphs, parameters, etc.) to determine pass / fail condition and conclude when further analysis is needed
Effectively communicate technical issues to peers and engineering.
Generate comprehensive failure entries into a database that correlates the failure modes back to the associated test or unit under test
Must be in good physical condition given that this position requires lifting, walking, and could involve stair / ladder climbing.
May use hand and power tools as necessary

Knowledge of aircraft electronic systems

Experience with Microsoft Office Applications
Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) to effectively communicate across all levels of the organization.
Ability to read mechanical drawings and electric schematics
Demonstrated capability to perform a broad, diverse range of technical tasks and / or very specific technical tasks in the engineering disciplines
Ability to provide hands on technical support during research and development phases through demonstration tests
Capable of receiving detailed instructions and expressing technical concepts clearly
Required Education :
A Bachelor's Degree in a related field and 4 years relevant experience OR an Associate's degree and 8 years of relevant experience OR at least 12 years relevant experience with no degree.
Relevant experience includes military experience.
