The Product / R&D Engineer will be working in a design team that develops technical solutions for our existing product lines as well as new product development.
The main responsibility of the candidate will be to generate / modify designs of various types of valves and flow control equipment, anywhere from the conceptual level to final production stages.
and will collaborate with a cross functional team including casting, molding, manufacturing, supply chain, marketing, sales, product management and quality.
Individual must have demonstrated ability to drive and complete projects that meet / exceed projected specifications, budgets and timelines.
Perform and supportnew / modified product projects from concept to post release with strong sense of urgency and creativity(Launch package, Pre-Qualification Doc.)
Study and conduct VOC, QFDfor Valve products.
All aspects of new design including specifications, CAD models, drawings, tolerance analysis, stress, strain, and fatigue analysis using FEA as required.
Create and maintain accurate drawing package, costed BOM & product specifications.
Prepare document BOM, GA Drawings, design calculation sheets for LR, ABS, BV, DNV, KR, CE certifications.
Lead and support coordinating all aspects ofdesign validation including prototyping, lab and field testing from DVP & R, pilot build and initial & Mass production run from PVP & R, etc.
Works collaboratively with otherglobal design centre and strategic suppliers as needed.
Complete and maintain manufacturing drawings, detailed data sheet, analysis document of product concepts and related components using Excel, Word, PPT files.
Conduct corrective action for product problems by using tools, such as RCCM, Andon, EDCN, KIZEN etc.
Technical support and responses for global design centre, product management, sales and relevant Dep’t.
Participate and support VA / VE (Value analysis / Value engineering) and other projects.
Register and maintain intellectual property, Patents & Utility model patent.
In charge of maintaining associations, KOITA, etc.

Minimum Bachelor’s (Master’s preferred) degree in Mechanical Engineering.
4+ 8+ years of mechanical design experience in a high-volume production, product development environment, especially in the valve industry.
Excellent communication skills in English to proceed with a global project, Excess or equivalent in TOEIC L / R scored 750 or TOEIC speaking Lv : 6.
Good at AutoCAD / Inventor and system engineering, FEA software package, such as Ansys and ABAQUS.
Official engineer licenses and qualifications preferred. (Mechanical design, General machinery, Construction equipment, Gas equipment with relevant pressure vessel. etc)
Apply codes & standards to valve design, such as ASTM, ASME, API, AWWA, CE, MSS, JIS, etc
Practical experience with PPAP’s,D(P)VP&R’s, DFMEA’s and PFMEA’s.
Carry out Lean, Cost Saving Pjt, 6sigma.
Experience with metal materials and part design; including material properties, environmental factors, manufacturing and assembly processes.
Well-understanding about casting process, initial pattern inspection, solving problems with casting imperfections and defects and machining, molding, tolerances, fits and finishes.
Computer literate with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project and Outlook.
