Corporate Counsel, Korea18WD28636Asia Pacific-Korea, Republic of-Seoul-Jung-guKorea AttorneyLocation : Seoul- Korea Job ID : 18WD28636 Position Overview This is a great opportunity for an attorney to join the Autodesk Legal Team as the sole lawyer in Autodesk’s Korea office, supporting primarily the Korean business but also with opportunities to work on a diverse range of legal matters across the APJ region.
The role reports directly to Autodesk’s APJ Legal Director. The successful candidate will support Autodesk’s Korea office on a broad range of legal issues, liaising with legal subject matter experts within Autodesk’s legal team as needed. Responsibilities
Supporting sales agreements (both software subscription and / or consulting services) with Autodesk’s larger customers
Supporting Autodesk’s channel distribution business, including ensuring compliance with specific laws that apply to distribution partners
Advising on employment related legal issues, including working closely with HR to ensure compliance with all current employment laws
Assisting in the creation of and delivery of training on a range of legal topics
Working closely with the senior management team of Autodesk’s Korean business groups
Collaborating with Autodesk’s other legal functions on various corporate initiatives
Managing litigious matters, with guidance from Autodesk litigation specialists and / or working and managing outside counsel
Assisting with Autodesk’s software license compliance programs conducted in Korea
Ensuring that the activities of Autodesk’s Korean office are compliant with Korean Privacy, Competition and Consumer Protection laws,
Providing legal support to help with the resolution of customer enquiries and complaints
Reviewing locally created marketing materials and programs
The expectation is that within a short period of time, you will become an indispensable resource to the business and a trusted member of the senior management team
At least 5 years of combined law firm and in-house experience with a global public company and ideally with experience working with a software and / or internet business or high technology companies
This role requires a responsive, proactive lawyer, with sound legal and business judgment, who has prior experience working with a sales organization of a technology company
Knowledge and experience related to software licensing and distribution, competition and fair-trading laws, marketing, privacy, data security, and employment laws
Must be able to function independently, and work proactively as well as collaboratively and cross-functionally
Ability to work efficiently to assist business clients in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, meeting tight deadlines and response expectations of business clients
Strong analytical and strategic problem-solving skills, combined with strong written and oral communication skills, used to provide practical advice which incorporates both legal and business objectives
Perfectly fluent in both English and Korean languages (fluency in other regional languages would be an added bonus)
Exceptional judgment and creativity, with the ability to think strategically and give practical advice, appropriately weighing both legal and business objectives
Ability to handle multiple matters at once and quickly shift from one situation or task to another
Strong executive presence, credibility and the ability to influence stakeholders
